Welcome Walk
We will conduct our annual Welcome Walk on Tuesday, August 15th from 4:00 â 7:00 PM. Your studentâs new teacher will drop by for a brief âdoor visitâ to meet your student and welcome your family. If you are not home during the Welcome Walk, teachers will leave a note that contains the teacher assignment and class information. They will follow up with a phone call sometime the next day. Families that are not home during the Welcome Walk can meet the teacher on Thursday, August 17th at Centreville ES between 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. during the Back-to-School/Supply Drop-off Event (details are below).
If you prefer to opt out of the Welcome Walk please call the school at 703-502-3500 to let us know and we will not visit your home.
If you have changed your address, please notify the CES office as soon as possible at 703-502-3500.

Students who are entering the building after the late bell at 9:15 a.m. must accompanied and signed by adult in at the main office.
Dismissal
The safety of our students is of primary concern during our dismissal procedures. The first two weeks of dismissal tend to take much longer as students, teachers, parents, and drivers get used to the routines of the dismissal procedures. We ask that you be patient as the students become familiar with the dismissal procedures. All students will begin dismissal at 4:00 p.m. If you plan to meet your walking student at the end of the day, we ask that you wait outside of door 5, the bus lobby entrance.
Special reminder: If you must pick up your student early at the end of the day for an appointment, please arrive to the office by 3:30 p.m. We will not call students for early dismissal after 3:30 p.m. due to the impact on dismissal procedures in the classrooms.
Bus Information A bus schedule will be in your Welcome Packet and will be available on ParentVUE.
Students are reminded to be at the bus stop five minutes before the listed time. We encourage all bus riders to ride the bus to and from school every day during the first week of school to help them learn these procedures and the routines expected on the bus.
Kiss & Ride Information All families using Kiss & Ride must register during Back-to-School Night on August 17th to receive placards for your vehicles. If you are not able to attend this event, please contact the office.
School Meals Fairfax County Public Schools provides a variety of nutritious meals. Menus, allergens, and nutrition information are all available online at - https://fcps.nutrislice.com/menu/. Free and Reduced-Price Meal applications are now available on the FCPS website. Interested families are encouraged to submit the application before the first day of school.
